Eclipsed Playwright Danai Gurira on How She Landed Oscar Winner Lupita Nyong’o to Lead the Show

Danai Gurira is the ultimate multi-hyphenate. Not only does she have a starring role on The Walking Dead, but her play Eclipsed is currently wrapping up a successful run at the Public before moving to Broadway. Gurira stopped by The Tonight Show on November 25 to chat about her projects and how she landed Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o to lead her production. "She emailed me and said: 'Danai, I really want to get back on stage and I want to do it with your play,'" says Gurira, who went on to admit to host Jimmy Fallon: "I'm still pinching myself."
